Electrical Hardware Engineer

Position Summary

BBB Industries, LLC. is looking for a highly motivated, seasoned engineer to lead all electrical design for the test and validation group at our Detroit Technology Center battery and battery-cell remanufacturing group. 

In this role, you will work closely with other organizations (both internal and external to BBB) to support test equipment design, development and success for all new EV battery remanufacturing projects from initial concept through to full production.

The battery module and cell reclamation excellence is a critical component in any EV Battery Reman process. This role will immediately make highly impactful and meaningful contributions to our products and the team’s success. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits as they lead a highly motivated and capable team to make unbelievable things into reality.                                                 

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Designing various electrical components for test systems such as wire harnesses, circuits, schematics etc.
  • Selecting and sourcing hardware essential to the testing system.
  • Generate cable/wire pull sheets for connecting components.
  • Working with electrical installation group to get system assembled and commissioned at various BBB sites
  • Supporting Battery Validation Engineer by aiding in the development of test equipment and configuration
  • Occasional travel (up to 25%) to support commissioning of new reman lines at various BBB facilities

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Electrical or Computer Engineering coupled with 2-5+ years’ experience designing electrical vehicle systems/components (EV Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of CAN communication protocols and associated DAQ tools (e.g. CANalayzer, CANoe, etc.)
  • Hands on work trouble shooting and resolving electrical issues on test equipment
  • Proficient in AutoCAD to be able to generate schematics & control panel layouts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Adjust as necessary:  ability to travel up to 25% for new site/lab commissioning

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
