Position Summary

BBB Industries, LLC. is looking for a highly motivated, seasoned engineer to lead the development and scaling up of the test and validation group for our Detroit Technology Center battery and battery-cell remanufacturing group. This role will eventually lead a cross-functional team responsible for establishing and executing the long-term infrastructure of our battery validation group.

In this role, you will work closely with other organizations both internal and external to BBB, taking new EV battery remanufacturing projects from initial concept through to full production.

The battery module and cell reclamation excellence is a critical component in any EV Battery Reman process. This role will immediately make highly impactful and meaningful contributions to our products and the team’s success. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits as they lead a highly motivated and capable team to make unbelievable things into reality.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

• Define the validation test plan and acceptance criteria for high voltage battery packs
• Lead testing of large format battery packs through environmental and load cycle testing procedures
• Root cause analysis of failure modes
• Support compliance and certification to applicable standards for EV batteries
• Contribute knowledge of product validation to the battery pack process engineering teams to meet functional safety requirements and verify compliance per ISO standards
• Configuring/modifying existing test equipment
• Occasional travel (up to 25%) to support commissioning of new reman lines at various BBB facilities

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer of Chemical Engineering with 2-10+ years’ direct experience developing and executing EV battery tests (primarily pack and module level)
• Experience delivering multiple electric vehicle validation projects to an OEM
• Knowledge of battery management systems electrical safety standards
• Recent hands-on experience in the areas of systems integration, product verification and validation of large, complex systems into a multi-national organization
• Experience with lab software including automation and data processing tools (MATLAB, Python, CANoe, CANalyzer etc.)
