Route Sales Rep - Southern WA & Northern OR

Department: Sales
Location: Puyallup, WA

About the Role: The primary role of a local outside route sales representative is to grow our market share by reaching out to customers to promote our hydraulic repair and reman services, as well as our aftermarket product offering. In addition, this role will place outbound calls to an existing customer base to educate them on current product offerings and promotions and to be a reliable resource to help facilitate requests and services as needed. Specialists use computerized system for sales, tracking, information gathering, and/or troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and builds relationships with existing customers as well as develop a new customer base
  • Deliver sales results through exceptional sales: exceed or meet monthly sales goals of strategic hydraulic products
  • Conducts sales/service calls to identify opportunities, customer needs and to address customer concerns
  • Pick-up and deliver products and materials to customers, customer jobsites and to the shop as needed using a company truck
  • Use safety straps and tie-downs to secure loads in/on company vehicles
  • Occasionally operate a forklift and/or overhead crane system in shop to load and unload
  • Keeps current with promotions and products necessary to meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Understand facility-specific expertise
  • Ability to navigate a computerized data system and one or many relevant applications
  • Facilitates RFQs, orders, warranty problems and other customer requests
  • Collaborates with Territory Managers, Production Department and Inside Sales to improve overall customer experience
  • Manages and documents Sales/Service calls
  • Ability to problem-solve and assess customer needs and provide solutions

Territory:

  • Southern Washinton and Northern Oregon

Pay:

  • $60,000 - $75,000 plus commission plan

Qualifications:

  • 5 + year(s) with mobile or industrial hydraulics
  • Experience with fluid systems, hydraulics, motors, or other related components is strongly recommended
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to drive a flat-bed pick-up truck to pick-up and deliver components varying in weight and length, to customers and job-sites
  • Must follow all safety and state law guidelines in regard to securing your load on company vehicles
  • Must follow the guidelines to meet the customer needs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Must be reliable, organized and motivated
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer sponsored visa
  • 5 + year(s) experience in a sales role (inside sales, outside sales, or commissioned sales)
  • Some customer service, call center, telemarketing, or residential sales experience a plus
  • Quick accurate typing ability: comfortable maneuvering through windows and web-based applications and enjoys learning new technology
  • Excellent communication skills including articulation, grammar and persuasion, customer service, and interpersonal skills required
  • Some college or a college degree is a plus
  • Positive, outgoing, results oriented, ambitious, team player
  • Fluid Power Certification a plus
  • CRM Experience (i.e., Sales Force, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP)

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant shop environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
  • PPE required site specific to include hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, and steel toed boots.
